Ken was born in Chicago IL. He discovered the bass at age 14, and played in the school jazz band while learning British Invasion hits at home. Ken lists Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughan), John Entwistle (The Who), and Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan) among his main influences. Ken got his first paying gigs, playing country-rock while in high school (in those days being underage was overlooked) and has been playing ever since, with over 25 years of experience.
While stationed with the Air Force in England, Ken studied jazz at the Musician's Institute in London, and broadened his interests by playing with several British bands. Highlights of that time include playing in a blues festival hosted by the renown pirate station, Radio Caroline.
Currently Ken plays rock and country bass with several Eastern Iowa bands, having opened for many national acts during the summer festival season. He also has several television appearances and radio jingles to his credit.
Daniel began his musical journey at the age of 5, when his extreme interest in music encouraged his parents to enroll him in piano lessons. By age 7 he was already composing his own material. He later discovered jazz through a fellow musician who gave him a cassette tape of Larry Carlton. By the time he entered high school Daniel was well versed in both piano and guitar, and was also beginning to sing. At the age of 16, he formed his first “serious band” called The Fragile Connection, which was comprised of musicians from Stony Brook, NY where he attended high school. Several years and several bands later he would join Centerstage Variety Band and tour extensively throughout the midwest.
